As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited program for licensure as an EMT-Paramedic
  • Current Florida licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association upon or within one year of hire
  • Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training program

Nice To Haves

  • Current valid Florida driver's license (VDL)
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
  • One year of experience as an EMT or Paramedic

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate medical treatment to injured or ill patients on-site and/or during transport to hospital.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Assess nature and extent of illness/injury and patient history from available sources.
  • Determine appropriate independent or collaborative response.
  • Administer appropriate emergency medical care, including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, obtaining EKG readings and vital statistics monitoring.
  • Perform fluid/drug administration as needed.
  • Communicate with medical personnel at hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital if on the Transport Team.
  • Navigate Ambulance to scene of accident in response to emergency call, if on the Transport Team.
