RN - CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORT JOB SUMMARY The Critical Care Transport - Registered Nurse (RN) works under the direction of the medical director and supervision of transport management is responsible for providing safe and the highest quality patient-centered care to critically ill or injured patients from all age groups. This individual will deliver patient care in a variety of settings including, scenes, interfacility transport, and hospital. The Critical Care Transport – RN practices at a professional level that serves to build and maintain relationships with hospital departments, referring organizations, and 911 services in order to promote integrated delivery systems. PARAMEDIC - CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORT JOB SUMMARY The Critical Care Transport Paramedic works under the direction of the medical director and supervision of transport management is responsible for providing safe and the highest quality patient-centered care to critically ill or injured patients from all age groups. This individual will deliver patient care in a variety of settings including, scenes, interfacility transport, and hospital. The Critical Care Transport Paramedic practices at a professional level that serves to build and maintain relationships with hospital departments, referring organizations, and 911 services in order to promote integrated delivery systems. Requirements

  • EDUCATION: For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
  • RN Minimum Required: Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • PARAMEDIC Minimum Required: Graduate of an EMT-P training course or related courses.
  • EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: One year of Critical Care/ICU experience or One year of EMS experience.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skill, communication, and interpersonal skills in highly stressful environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emergency vehicles and traffic laws and operations.
  • CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
  • RN Minimum Required: RN license or Nurse Compact license awarded by the State of WI.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency.
  • Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by AAP within six months of hire.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) within two years of hire.
  • PARAMEDIC Minimum Required: Paramedic license awarded by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Critical Care Paramedic Certification awarded by the State of WI within one year of hire and eligibility to take course for experienced paramedics or within three years for new paramedics.

Nice To Haves

  • RN Preferred/Optional: Three years of Critical Care/ICU experience.
  • RN Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification at time of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by AAP at time of hire.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification at time of hire.
  • Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN) or Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) within 2 years of hire
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) at the time of hire.
  • PARAMEDIC Preferred/Optional: Graduate of an EMT-P training course.
  • Associate’s degree in related field.
  • PARAMEDIC Preferred/Optional: Three years of Critical Care experience and experience as a paramedic.
