About The Position

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Privacy and Responsible Technology Division (PRTD) as a Paralegal to help support our growing litigation docket. PRTD investigates and litigates cutting-edge issues in emerging technologies and data privacy. The Division works to address unfair or deceptive technologies that may manipulate consumers, including youth, and works to maintain data security and privacy. The Paralegal will provide day-to-day litigation support for all aspects of the attorneys’ case responsibilities, including but not limited to: tracking and organizing discovery and court filings; drafting case materials; cite checking, formatting, and finalizing legal memoranda; compiling evidence and exhibits; and performing other duties as requested by attorneys. Case management is also a critical component of this role, including organizing files, trial support, indexing and record-keeping, and coordinating with enforcement partners. Some administrative and clerical duties, such as document filing, scheduling, and general office support will also be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or an equivalent combination of related education and/or relevant experience is required.
  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and possess the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines, and the ability to follow through with oral and written instructions are essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • A high level of proficiency with data analysis, technology and computers, especially word processing and spreadsheet software, is preferred.
