About The Position

The Governor's Office and Department of Administrative Services is currently seeking a Paralegal to join their team. They will work closely both the Governor's Office and Department of Administrative Services Legal Counsels. They will be assisting them in preparing, organizing and coordinating various legal responses. They will also correspond with public records requesters. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute.
  • Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
  • Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of the operations of a law office.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of public records laws.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and Monitor all Governor's Office Public Records Requests.
  • Complete basic legal research for projects at the direction of the Governor's General Counsel.
  • Coordinate with legal professionals across the executive branch on priority issues.
  • Prepare legal documents as well as everyday letters, emails, forms, etc.
  • Review legal documents for errors and omissions.
  • General Administrative Support.
  • Assist the Department of Administrative Services General Counsel.
  • All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.
