About The Position

As a workers’ compensation paralegal, you’ll provide comprehensive case support by managing workers’ compensation dockets, organizing pleadings and medical records, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each matter. This includes ensuring accurate preparation of legal documents, maintaining organized paperless files, and leveraging case management tools to support efficient case progression and hearing readiness.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or Equivalent combination of professional experience, education, or certification.
  • Working understanding of workers’ compensation procedures, including administrative rules, filing requirements, and hearing processes.
  • Skilled in drafting workers’ compensation pleadings and filings, including petitions or applications for benefits, motions, discovery responses, and disclosures.
  • Ability to conduct legal and procedural research related to workers’ compensation statutes and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workers’ compensation cases, deadlines, and documents in a paperless environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, attorneys, claims adjusters, medical providers, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive medical and employment information.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
  • Proficiency using case management systems, document management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a docket of workers’ compensation cases from beginning to end, including organizing files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with attorneys and team.
  • Draft and revise pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and disclosures specific to workers’ compensation matters in compliance with applicable rules and attorney direction.
  • Communicate with clients, attorneys, adjusters, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel to provide updates, gather information, and resolve issues.
  • Collect, review, and summarize medical records, bills, depositions, exhibits, and discovery materials to support case strategy and hearing preparation.
  • Coordinate filings, schedule depositions and hearings, interface with workers’ compensation agencies, and maintain calendars and deadline summaries.
  • Conduct legal research on workers’ compensation law, procedural rules, and jurisdictional requirements to ensure compliance and support attorneys.
  • Utilize case management software to manage discovery, organize files, track case status, and document all work for accurate case files.
