About The Position

Assist attorneys with fact investigation, legal research, data analysis, discovery responses, communication with business partners and outside counsel, and any other support needed throughout all phases of litigation. Assist with data collection, including using e-discovery tools and partnering with key stakeholders and vendors to locate, preserve, search and transfer relevant documents and ESI. Create and maintain organized case files ensuring all relevant information is easily accessible. Work independently to prepare information and gather necessary documents to respond to a variety of internal and external legal requests, including subpoenas, audits, investigations, E&O claims, and administrative agency and court complaints. Assist in drafting, issuing and managing legal hold notices, including coordinating with the IT Department and other personnel as needed. Draft, edit, and analyze a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, agreements, affidavits, and reports. Collaborate with the legal team, producers and department personnel, external vendors, and outside counsel, and develop strong relationships across and outside the organization. Develop and establish processes and work product templates to ensure that cases are efficiently managed and organized. Intellectual Property Support Coordinate with outside counsel on the management of IP activities, including applications, registration, annuity, prosecution, and renewal. Collect trademark specimens, create IP reports, manage payment of maintenance fees and renewals, and other related IP tasks Monitor and maintain IP portfolio to ensure deadlines are met and records are accurate. Draft and review IP-related agreements, such as license agreements, and confidentiality agreements. General Legal Support Perform admin functions such as filing, scheduling of meetings, travel arrangements and invoice/payment processing for the legal department as needed. Conduct legal research and statistical analyses as directed by reporting attorney. Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or Paralegal studies.
  • A minimum of five years' Paralegal experience.
  • Must have experience with electronic discovery in complex litigation and strong understanding of ESI best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred.
  • Experience in an in-house legal environment strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview is a plus.
  • Experience working with ELM platforms (such as Onit) and electronic signature platforms (such as DocuSign) preferred.
