Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Two+ years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar role in a legal setting.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document management software.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate legal documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and standard office software.
  • Ability to manage electronic case files and document organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in business law, estate planning, or family law.
  • Experience preparing pleadings or filings for Kentucky courts.
  • Familiarity with case management systems or legal document management software.
  • Strong proofreading and document formatting skills.
  • Experience with legal case management or document management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft, and organize legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and compile findings to support casework.
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, court filings, and client communications.
  • Manage deadlines and maintain case schedules with accuracy.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files for business, estate, and family law matters.
  • Track filing deadlines, court dates, and document submissions to ensure timely case management.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive legal and client information.
  • Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, and clients regarding case documentation and scheduling when appropriate.
  • Provide occasional administrative support, including answering phones and greeting clients when needed.
