About The Position

Our Healthcare team is highly regarded for providing strategic, cost-effective, and robust legal advice to NHS Trusts, insurers, medical indemnity organisations and healthcare providers. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Paralegal to support legal casework on regulatory, disciplinary and inquest matters. This role can be based from anywhere outside of London on a hybrid basis which is flexible.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a legal support role, preferably within the healthcare or insurance sectors.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence in dealing with medical records and legal documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems (e.g., Visualfiles).
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification (e.g. LPC, SQE preparation).
  • Previous experience in defendant healthcare work is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of non-claims matters under supervision.
  • Prepare chronologies, draft correspondence, and review medical records.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, counsel, and experts.
  • Conduct legal research and maintain case management systems.
  • Prepare bundles for hearings and conferences.
  • Attend client meetings and case conferences as required.
  • Monitor and diarise court dates, deadlines, and key tasks.
  • Complete MI and prepare for client audits.
