Under the direction of the principal and teacher(s), the paraeducator assists teachers in a variety of capacities in the instruction and supervision of students. Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are required and are essential functions of this position. Assists in the preparation of instruction materials. Assists in the instruction of students and other classroom activities as needed. May tutor students individually or in small groups. Assist in the administration of a variety of tests and monitors students' academic progress. Keeps accurate data on assigned students or group of students. Supports a school environment that helps students develop and maintain a positive self-concept. Maintains professional confidentiality regarding student information. Maintains effective and positive communication with students, teachers, parents, patrons and administration. Work collaboratively in a team environment. Must be able to work assigned hours.
