About The Position

The temporary Pantry Assistant plays a key role in supporting pantry operations by helping to process food donations for client distribution, keeping shelves stocked and orderly.

Requirements

Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, have a good driving record, 3 positive points on a VA driver's license, and have at least three years of U.S. driving experience.
Ability to learn new tasks and procedures, comply with processes, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
Per Agency standard safely operate equipment, such as manual pallet jacks, etc.
Effective customer service, communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and adjust as needed to workload and pantry activity priorities.
Knowledgeable and willing to uphold Catholic moral and social teaching in the workplace
Experience in customer service and collaborating with others.
Online Food Safety Training will be provided during work hours.

Responsibilities

Assist in receiving, loading, unloading, sorting, storing, packing, restocking, and distributing food to meet mission objectives.
In alignment with Ministry safety standards, ensure food handling policies and procedures are followed.
In alignment with Ministry standards, maintain the cleanliness of the pantry with trash, recycling, and other cleaning responsibilities.
May be needed to drive fleet T250 van to support grocery store partner pickups.
