About The Position

The Video Assistant is responsible for assisting the Video Editor in the creation, production, and editing of the newspaper’s video content. This role involves aiding the entire production process, from conceptualization, interviewing, recording, editing, and publication.

Requirements

• Must be dedicated to Panther news goals, be able to work within and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and Produce Video Content: Collaborate with the Video Editor to plan and develop content that aligns with the paper.
• Record, edit, and produce video content.
• Manage the scheduling and logistics of recording.
• Write scripts and prepare interview questions for interviews if applicable.
• Work with Editorial Team: Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Ensure High-Quality Production: Edit and mix recordings, ensuring clarity and flow.
• Publish and Promote Videos: Manage the distribution of videos on various platforms (e.g., YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, website, etc.).
• Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to create promotional materials.
• Develop strategies for increasing newspaper visibility and audience engagement.
