About The Position

ENTRUST Solutions Group, an ENR Top 100 company with over 3,000 employees, provides comprehensive engineering, consulting, and automation services to gas and electric utilities, telecommunication service providers, pipeline operators, and industrial companies. The Panel Shop Technician I role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, integrated controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment. The technician is responsible for planning and executing work that requires a thorough understanding of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, adhering to local and national electrical codes, understanding material properties, and applying electronic equipment operation principles. Key duties include installing, starting up, and shutting down equipment in compliance with company safety procedures, OSHA, and DOT requirements. The technician also advises operators and line mechanics on safe operation procedures for electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components, performs all functions within ENTRUST's Safety and Environmental policies and governmental laws, and informs management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field.
  • Entry Level to 5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
  • Three years’ computer experience/operation and/or PLC programming.
  • Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out instructed tasks

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, integrated controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA and DOT requirements.
  • Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Performs all functions within the Safety and Environmental policies of ENTRUST and governmental laws and orders
  • Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
