About The Position

George E. Booth Co., Inc is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full-time Panel Shop Manager. The ideal candidate will be capable of planning, directing and coordinating operations of the panel shop, panel building process and inventory control to support the Service Division. To be successful in this role, mechanical inclination and electrical knowledge is a must. This position is bound primarily to the panel shop at the Indianapolis location with occasional travel to customer locations during normal business hours. A clean driving record is required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology is required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as business needs arise.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills and ability to work independently or with a team
  • Strong communication skills whether written, verbal or otherwise required especially using moderately complex terminology and concepts.
  • Must be willing to travel locally with occasional overnights and have a clean driving record.
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or continued education is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or technical field highly preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience with panel building highly preferred.
  • Results-driven personality a plus.
  • Previous work experience with successful management of personnel a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule or coordinate project activities and panel shop personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, environmental or other regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of business concerned with project production, pricing, sales and/or distribution.
  • Articulate project specifications to panel fabricators, AutoCAD developers, improve operational strategies, plans and procedures for meeting deadlines with accurate results.
  • Be a consultant for department personnel and supervisors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Foster an environment that monitors and maintains proper safety throughout the entire facility.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Champion an environment of open communication, mentoring direct reports and encouraging them to grow, develop and learn by providing all the necessary tools and resources for the team to be successful.
  • Direct administrative duties directly related to projects and assign specific duties to subordinates.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements.
  • Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs, as needed.
  • Analyze business or financial data by assessing the cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervision.
