Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., founded in 1957 and headquartered in Mississippi, is the largest producer and distributor of shell eggs in the United States. The Palletizer job is an entry-level position responsible for efficiently stacking cases on pallets in accordance with customer specifications. They must handle cases carefully and stack them securely to ensure safe transportation. All cases should be placed on the pallet with the correct labels.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an egg grading machine operator is advantageous.
  • Basic math and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Prior forklift training and certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Availability for night shifts, weekends, and holidays when applicable.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure pallets are intact and in good condition before use.
  • Properly stack cases according to guidelines.
  • Arrange cases of eggs on skids.
  • Verify all cases are correctly labeled; attach labels as needed.
  • Stack cases neatly on pallets while maintaining order.
  • Segregate damaged cases for reworking.
  • Adhere to USDA regulations, SQF, safety, biosecurity, and food defense programs.
  • Identify and record pallet completion based on daily production plan.
  • Wrap pallets as per customer specifications.
  • Address immediate issues within capability.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance for enhanced reliability.
  • Safely operate equipment, including tape machine, pallet wrapper, pallet jack, and pallet scale.
  • Promptly report mechanical problems or quality issues.
  • Prioritize safety, report hazards, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Assist in promoting teamwork by effective communication.
  • Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by management.
