About The Position

The Palletizer is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and begin growing your career in the glass manufacturing industry. This role will operate strapping machines and automatic palletizers, supplies load-building materials and moves loads from work area using a forklift. The Palletizer will: Maintain supply of pallets, tier sheets, shrouds, strapping and other material required for palletizing and strapping ware Check for proper application of straps around pallet loads (bulk and cased); places string ties and manual straps when required Operates automatic palletizer and automatic strapping machine, to prepare load of ware Unjams strapping machine and automatic palletizers as required Straightens loads, replaces bottles, discards damaged bulking materials, and checks load integrity Checks oil level in VFC regulators of automatic palletizers Identify problems with equipment, may make very minor adjustments and reports malfunction of equipment to designated employee May manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions Performs clean-up and housekeeping duties The Palletizer should have: Strong mechanical aptitude Good interpersonal skills Be highly safety conscious Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

Maintain supply of pallets, tier sheets, shrouds, strapping and other material required for palletizing and strapping ware
Check for proper application of straps around pallet loads (bulk and cased); places string ties and manual straps when required
Operates automatic palletizer and automatic strapping machine, to prepare load of ware
Unjams strapping machine and automatic palletizers as required
Straightens loads, replaces bottles, discards damaged bulking materials, and checks load integrity
Checks oil level in VFC regulators of automatic palletizers
Identify problems with equipment, may make very minor adjustments and reports malfunction of equipment to designated employee
May manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions
Performs clean-up and housekeeping duties
