The Pallet Jack Operator is responsible for collecting and delivering products using an electronic or hand-operated pallet jack, while strictly adhering to company safety and quality procedures. This role involves operating the pallet jack between various departments, buildings, and grounds, and handling a wide variety of materials. Key duties include detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions, maintaining a clean and orderly work area and equipment, and following all safety regulations. The operator will deliver materials to work areas as directed by the production supervisor, stack materials in storage areas, and load shipments into trailers, ensuring all items are undamaged and handled safely. The position also requires identifying and reporting any mechanical problems or damage to the pallet jack for inspection and repair. Daily and weekly reports must be completed and delivered to the floor supervisor. Additionally, the operator is expected to be an active team member, participating in team development, communication, and policy implementation, coordinating work for best practices, and attending team meetings. The role involves fostering cohesiveness within the team, identifying and resolving issues, and contributing to overall organizational synergy. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understanding the impact of individual actions on these systems, along with communicating concerns and improvement ideas, are also part of the role. This position is for the 3rd Shift.
