About The Position

As a Pallet Builder, you will construct wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets, and/or lumber. You will also repair damaged pallets from customers, returning them to service-ready condition before consolidation and shipping. This role is crucial to the organization's sustainability goals. 48forty Solutions is the largest pallet management services company in North America, providing end-to-end pallet solutions, including supply, retrieval, on-site services, reverse logistics, and packaging materials. Requirements

• High school degree or GED required
• Requires quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality
• Observance of all safety rules and regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred
• Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition
• Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager
• Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards
• Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty’s standards
• Build the given number of pallets, once training is complete
• Repair the given number of pallets, once training is complete
• Expected to be able to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely
• Stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
• Check loads to make sure they are secure
