Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorised to work in the U.S. (E-Verify eligible)
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience estimating commercial or industrial painting projects (required)
  • Strong skills in: Blueprint reading Painting takeoffs Surface preparation and coating systems Labor & material pricing Bid and proposal preparation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate commercial/industrial painting cost estimates, including materials, labor, production rates, schedules, and project requirements
  • Perform detailed takeoffs, review blueprints, and analyze specs, drawings, and scope documents
  • Apply strong knowledge of surface prep methods, coatings, finishes, and application techniques
  • Develop complete bid packages, proposals, and scope clarifications
  • Attend job walks/site visits to gather project data and verify existing conditions
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, vendors, and field teams to resolve questions and validate project details
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, safety practices, and applicable regulations
  • Support process improvements and assist with training or mentoring junior team members as needed
