Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience estimating commercial or industrial painting projects
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify eligible)
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination
  • Strong skills in blueprint reading, painting takeoffs, surface prep and coating systems, labor & material pricing, bid and proposal preparation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial painting projects, including labor, materials, production rates, schedules, and project requirements
  • Perform detailed takeoffs, review blueprints, and analyze specifications, drawings, and scope documents
  • Apply knowledge of surface preparation methods, coatings, finishes, and application techniques
  • Develop complete bid packages, proposals, and scope clarifications
  • Attend job walks and site visits to gather project data and verify existing conditions
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, vendors, and field teams to resolve questions and validate project details
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, safety practices, and applicable regulations
  • Support process improvements and assist with training or mentoring junior team members as needed
