About The Position

Painter Location: Mercy Hospital – A Member of Catholic Health Join a mission-driven team at Mercy Hospital, a 375-bed not-for-profit hospital known for compassionate care that treats the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. The Painter is responsible for painting and redecorating walls, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures in various locations throughout the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior and exterior painting.
Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Paint and redecorate interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures.
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming as needed.
Mix, match, and thin paints to achieve proper color, consistency, and finish.
Apply paints, stains, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Ensure proper application techniques and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
Follow all hospital safety guidelines, including infection control procedures.
Coordinate work with other departments to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
Identify and report maintenance issues as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
