About The Position

The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, stain, and other finishes to various structures and surfaces within the organization. This role involves selecting and mixing paints, applying coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on both interior and exterior surfaces. The Painter will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety regulations and project specifications and may include light carpentry work as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a painter or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of painting techniques and materials.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to painting and surface preparation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  • Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and sanders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and lifting materials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or certification in painting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling holes or imperfections.
  • Select and mix paints, stains, and other finishes to achieve desired colors and finishes.
  • Apply paint, stain, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other tools.
  • Ensure that paint and finish applications are smooth, even, and free of drips, runs, or blemishes.
  • Protect floors, furniture, and other areas from paint splashes and spills using drop cloths, tape, and other materials.
  • Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and make any necessary touch-ups or corrections.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to coordinate work and address any issues or concerns.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, disposing of waste materials properly.
  • Assist with other maintenance or construction tasks as needed.
  • Add light carpentry work as needed
  • Makes the repairs or performs the maintenance in accordance with system policy and procedure
  • Ability to provide 24-hour on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be available to respond to emergencies or urgent requests during these times to ensure continuity of care/services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
