Job Summary The Painter performs a variety of duties related to safe and efficient operation of painting and upkeep of UMC buildings Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Perform general tasks related to painting techniques • Mix and match paint, stain, and other finishes to job specifications • Tape and bed, floating, roll or spray texture, patch work, hang sheetrock, apply vinyl wallpaper, stud framing, and maintain cleanliness and operation of assigned equipment. • Assemble scaffolding, climb ladders, and able to lift 5 gallons of paint continuously • Stage work area prior to painting. This may include but not limited to covering floors furniture and other surfaces; using masking take to apply drop cloths or protective coverings • Respond to work orders for assistance needed with general repairs of patient care equipment, office equipment, or grounds service • Complete daily work order documentation and end of shift reports in a timely manner • All other related duties assigned Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED • + 2 years of prior commercial painting experience Skills and Abilities • Familiar with minor electrical, painting, mechanical repair and general building techniques • Knowledgeable in applying joint compound smoothly • Knowledge of texture variations and all types of paint applications Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position will interact with staff, visitors, and patients Physical Capabilities Work involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects. Should be able to lift 50 lbs. Work involves walking and/or standing for prolonged periods of time. Environmental/Working Conditions This position is mostly subject to inside environmental conditions, however; may be required to be outdoors occasionally. Occasionally may require work with chemical hazards and environmental hazards (i.e. noisy environment, with infectious agents, near power supplies/machinery). Danger from falls, cuts and abrasions is present. Subject to call-backs at all times. Working various shifts may be required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • + 2 years of prior commercial painting experience
