Responsibilities The Painter will repair dry wall and/or plaster wall resurface and repair, apply paint, varnish, and apply other finishes or wall coverings to decorate and protect interior and exterior building surfaces at St. Martin’s in the Pines.

Requirements

  • Experience in commercial and residential painting
  • Requires attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of color theory
  • Ability to handle both routine maintenance and specialized projects.
  • Familiarity with healthcare environments, including knowledge of infection control standards, resident/patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Completion of High School/GED education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly (EOE)

Nice To Haves

  • Carpentry and wood working experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Surfaces: Clean, sand, and fill cracks to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Mixing and Applying Paint: Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors and finishes, applying them using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
  • Inspecting Work: Evaluate completed work for quality and accuracy.
  • Maintaining Tools: Keep painting tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Collaboration: Work with other maintenance staff to coordinate projects and communicate with clients and management.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and regulations during all painting activities.
  • Project Estimation: Estimate the time and cost of painting projects.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate work order records and parts inventory.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients and management to understand project requirements.
  • These responsibilities ensure that the facility's appearance is maintained and that safety standards are upheld.
