Here you’ll interact daily with team members during the problem resolution process and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our internal customers and their responsibilities. As a member of the Painter F Group, you will be responsible for performing multiple tasks in any combination and concentration of the mentioned areas and will rotate through all or most of the processes rather than being assigned to a specific task. Painters must be able to work as part of a team having responsibility for numerous components and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial/automotive paint experience OR related technical/vocational school experience.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and manufacturing instructions in a sufficient manner to complete the assigned assembly tasks.
  • Must be able to adhere to standards, do a quality job in a safe manner and within acceptable time.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
  • Must be willing to work in a tobacco free environment.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen (both for initial hire and ongoing random screens).
  • Must be able to work occasional weekend shifts.
  • Must be able to work scheduled overtime.
  • Must demonstrate ability to spray clear within 1 month.

  • Auto Body, Electrostatic Painter and conventional set up experience
  • I-CAR or ASE course completion

Responsibilities

  • Perform multiple tasks in any combination and concentration of the mentioned areas and rotate through all or most of the processes.
  • Work as part of a team having responsibility for numerous components and other duties as assigned.
  • Dry sanding, masking, unmasking, stencil, finish painting, seal and touch up.
  • Be familiar with standard paint equipment and be able to set up and adjust equipment to obtain the desired spray patterns.
  • Demonstrate proper environmental & safety practices when setting up and cleaning equipment.
  • Be able to identify defects such as runs, sags, dry spray, orange peel etc. and determine the probable cause and demonstrate repair techniques.
  • Work with all facility employees on improving manufacturing processes through prototyping, fabrication and experimental machining to develop and prove concepts and design and implement necessary fixtures and tooling for manufacturing improvements.
  • Promote climate of cooperation, leading by example mentoring others in safety, environmental, quality, lean and high-performance work team philosophies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with plastic fillers such as Bondo, icing, etc.
  • Work with team mates to achieve the highest paint standard possible.
