Our team of 4,000 employee-owners, equipped with innovative technology and optimized procedures, helps owners optimize safety, productivity, profit margins, and cost efficiency Painter & Insulator Foreman This person will supervise the construction, applying, removing, and repairing insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: no minimum education requirements.
  • Certification/License : NCCER Paint & Insulator certification and a Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience: 4 years' experience in an Industrial setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must have insulator skills and experience.
  • Supervise the construction, applying, removing, and repairing insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
  • Reads blueprints and selects required insulation material.
  • Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
  • Determine the amounts and selects required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
  • Using tape measure or other measuring device, measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
  • Fit, wrap or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications.
  • Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant or tape to secure insulation to the structure - according to the type of insulation used and structure covered, using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
  • Must be able of working at heights.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
  • Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
  • Work at heights with no fear.
  • May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
  • Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
  • May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
  • Other duties as assigned.
