Requirements

  • High School Graduate/GED
  • Ability to read prints
  • Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Nordson system and other paint equipment
  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Physical ability to perform job duties
  • Ability to lift and maneuver product. (Some position may require lifting up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to lift and maneuver bulky product
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, lift product throughout the assembly process
  • Pass respirator exam
  • Ability to work around paint and solvents
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish colors
  • Understanding of related safety and record keeping policies
  • Demonstrated ability to perform viscosity checks
  • Basic product knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Validate labeling of incoming paint
  • Perform all Painter 1 duties
  • Operate Nordson system
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Nordson system and paint equipment
  • Coordinate paint production schedule
  • Ensure ovens are set at set-point
  • Maintain production run records
  • Assure quality of painted metal
  • Give direction to touch-up painters and prep personnel
  • Verify actual production to scheduling; reduce 605 coatings
  • Assure quality standards understood and they are met
  • Ability to constructively work with others
  • Perform Safety audits
  • Follow standard work, control plans, and written work instructions
  • Participate in continuous improvement process and other lean initiatives
  • Coach and train new associates
  • Assure conformance with the 5S program
  • Assure compliance with all related safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and participate in achieving departmental and company goals
  • Serve as a member of the Pre-finish/Paint department team, providing assistance as required
  • Assist with hazardous waste management
