About The Position

A person in the position is responsible for prep, painting, staining, and finishing escape room props and sets produced in our fabrication facility as well as, scenically painting components. Typical items include: escape room sets/props, cabinets, furniture, and metalwork - and may include additional in the future. This team member works closely with colleagues in CNC, Carpentry/Metal Fabrication, and Assembly. Additionally, this team member will coordinate closely with the Production Manager to ensure appropriate levels of supplies are maintained, inventoried, procured, and stored. As with all roles at our company, we expect our team members to be willing to bring flexibility and a positive attitude to their day-to-day work. If we need help packing a truck, we pack the truck. If the floors need sweeping, etc.

Previous Painting / Finishing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Surface preparation of a variety of materials including:
Hard and softwoods.
Plywood
Steel
Plastic
Surface preparation includes the use of body fillers, putty, caulk and a variety of sanding techniques to ensure the item is ready for final finishing.
Primer application
Occasional assistance in application of finish coats including Paint, stain and sealer.
Diligently tracks information in production management systems; executes systems and processes
Quality checks all items before transferring to next stage of production
Maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized work area
Comply with all safety rules and regulations
