This is a terrific opportunity to join the Caterpillar North Little Rock, AR team as a Paint Technician on our 2nd shift team earning day ONE benefits and a starting wage of $21.10/hour. This position works under general supervision to assemble/test parts, components, or systems for wheel loaders and motor graders according to the specified work orders. This position is for the assembly line at the North Little Rock, AR site. As a Paint Technician, earning $21.10 + 7% shift differential, at Caterpillar – North Little Rock you will be part of a dedicated team in the painting of Motor Grader, Medium Wheel Loader and Rotary Mixer products that help our customers build a better world! Inside the 725,000 square-foot air-conditioned facility you will work with a team of painters and manufacturing engineers to complete daily build requirements. As a Paint team member, perform a wide area of operations in support of the liquid and powder value streams. These processes include inventory management, paint application, paint systems maintenance, project management, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5+ Years Experience in Manufacturing, Liquid and/or Powder Paint Systems and/or related technical experience is a MUST
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 products

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the and implementation of Lean Principles
  • Understand, Identify and Eliminate Wastes
  • Lead process troubleshooting and help to determine root cause
  • Lead process feedback and improvement ideas through Continuous Improvement Cards.
  • Implement RCCA plans for paint defects according engineering specifications
  • Implement RCCA plans for metal substrate defects according to engineering specifications
  • Assist in development of processes for NPI
  • Monitor and conduct operations level maintenance on all paint systems and equipment; paint kitchen, 2KS, paint booth, intellitrak, hoods, guns, etc.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of paint and equipment following FIFO criteria
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and outside sources to ensure all equipment is properly maintained
  • Document manager for paint department. (TPM, SW, 6s)
  • Maintain master roster for EE equipment issue
  • Project management/process improvement focus for the paint lines
  • Train the trainer for Senior painters and conduct paint training validation
  • Research, receive, and process purchase orders for the department
  • Paint parts using liquid and/or powder application as required
  • Fill in for Team leads as required
  • Respond to Andon systems as required
