About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Paint Supervisor to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI . This role will perform and manage all duties relating to the operation of automated powder coating, wet painting, and stainless passivation finishing systems. The overall objective is the efficient and effective use of labor, material, tools, equipment, and facilities in meeting customer requirements as directed by production schedules to produce quality finished components. The successful Paint Supervisor will train, assist, maintain morale, and motivate employees. A mutually cooperative working relationship with other supervisors and managers is critical to the overall success of the manufacturing operations and the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in wet and powder paint finishing systems on a variety of substrates in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory or group leader experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable in all regulatory agency compliance requirements.
  • Equipment Used: Manual and automatic powder spray equipment and controls.
  • Manual and automatic wet spray equipment and controls.
  • Chemical testing equipment.
  • Finish meter.
  • Gloss meter.
  • Sander.
  • Grinder.
  • Hook bending equipment.
  • Hand tools.
  • Pallet jacks.
  • Forklift.
  • PC skills and Microsoft Office products.
  • Kenall proprietary manufacturing software on AS400.

Responsibilities

  • Support s and enforce s all local and corporate safety policies and initiative s
  • Supports and participates in Legrand Way (LW) initiatives including Tier 2 Daily Performance Management and field tours, as , H X H reporting, and completing all other LW actions.
  • Leads and train s loader s /unloader s on proper and safe hanging / un hanging and stacking of production materials
  • Monitor s and documents line density to increase throughput
  • Offers suggestions to improve department throughput using l ean principles
  • Direct s and train s employees to mask parts per drawings
  • Direct s and train s manual touch up painting process as
  • Set s up application equipment for proper quality coverage and efficiency
  • Deigns r ack s and hook s using vendor expertise
  • M aint ai n s hooks and racks to promote clean ground for paint adhesion
  • Perform s and maintain s electronic quality inspections and related records which i ncludes logging measurement of coating thickness, finish quality, chemical s in washer stages, visual inspection of coated components, etc.
  • Rework s rejected parts promptly when
  • Work s towards continuous improvement and zero defects
  • Ensure s compliance with regulatory agencies such as EPA, OSHA, and KWU (Kenosha Water Utility) and maintain s accurate and current records
  • Establish es preventative maintenance schedule and monitor s and documents adherenc e
  • Request s maintenance department assistance as
  • Maintain s inventory, records, and requisition replacement supplies as
  • Meet s production schedules and escalates issues promptly
  • Assist s in ISO initiatives
  • Update s and follow s all department control plans and JHA’s
  • Establishes and enforces 5S standards
  • Attend s training classes and seminars as may be .
  • Work s with outside suppliers of equipment and materials to resolve problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
