About The Position

At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Paint Supervisor to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI. This role will perform and manage all duties relating to the operation of automated powder coating, wet painting, and stainless passivation finishing systems. The overall objective is the efficient and effective use of labor, material, tools, equipment, and facilities in meeting customer requirements as directed by production schedules to produce quality finished components. The successful Paint Supervisor will train, assist, maintain morale, and motivate employees. A mutually cooperative working relationship with other supervisors and managers is critical to the overall success of the manufacturing operations and the company. What Will You Do? Supports and enforces all local and corporate safety policies and initiatives Supports and participates in Legrand Way (LW) initiatives including Tier 2 Daily Performance Management and field tours, as required, H X H reporting, and completing all other LW actions. Leads and trains loaders/unloaders on proper and safe hanging/unhanging and stacking of production materials Monitors and documents line density to increase throughput Offers suggestions to improve department throughput using lean principles Directs and trains employees to mask parts per drawings Directs and trains manual touch up painting process as required Sets up application equipment for proper quality coverage and efficiency Deigns racks and hooks using vendor expertise Maintains hooks and racks to promote clean ground for paint adhesion Performs and maintains electronic quality inspections and related records which includes logging measurement of coating thickness, finish quality, chemicals in washer stages, visual inspection of coated components, etc. Reworks rejected parts promptly when required Works towards continuous improvement and zero defects Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as EPA, OSHA, and KWU (Kenosha Water Utility) and maintains accurate and current records Establishes preventative maintenance schedule and monitors and documents adherence Requests maintenance department assistance as required Maintains inventory, records, and requisition replacement supplies as required Meets production schedules and escalates issues promptly Assists in ISO initiatives Updates and follows all department control plans and JHA’s Establishes and enforces 5S standards Attends training classes and seminars as may be required. Works with outside suppliers of equipment and materials to resolve problems Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in wet and powder paint finishing systems on a variety of substrates in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory or group leader experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable in all regulatory agency compliance requirements.
