Mickey Truck Bodies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to join our IL Recon team in Bloomington, IL. This position plays a critical role in preparing truck bodies and components for painting and refinishing in a fast-paced manufacturing and fleet service environment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in paint prep, autobody, manufacturing, or industrial finishing preferred
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and sanding equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Willingness to learn and grow within the role

Responsibilities

Prepare truck bodies, panels, and components for painting by sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, and taping
Remove rust, old paint, grease, and surface contaminants
Perform minor body filler work and surface smoothing as needed
Wash, wipe down, and solvent-clean surfaces prior to paint application
Mask and protect areas not to be painted
Assist painters by staging parts and materials
Inspect prepared surfaces for defects and correct issues before painting
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and PPE
Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
