Who we’re looking for Toyota’s PE Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Paint Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage area project schedules for new equipment installation, new model introduction, shop capacity studies, competitiveness improvements and overall facilitation with related plant production groups. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Region 4 – Paint PE department's objective to effectively manage capital projects, new model introductions and provide necessary support to ensure competitive daily operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office applications (Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations)
  • Experience with AutoCad
  • Experience in automotive industry manufacturing environment
  • Experience coordinating equipment installations with multiple vendors
  • Project Management experience

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience with AutoCAD and CATIA
  • 1+ years of automotive paint production engineering or maintenance experience
  • 1+ years of experience writing equipment specifications
  • 1+ years of experience with Ringi development and requisition preparation

Responsibilities

  • Project planning and implementation for Vehicle Paint / Bumper Paint / Axle SPED Shops
  • Support new model introductions, including equipment modifications, process jigs, etc.
  • Lead competitive improvement projects for local production shop
  • Negotiate scope of work and define roles/responsibilities within the project
  • Identify necessary investment and equipment modifications for capacity increases, model mixes, etc.
  • Analyze problems areas and develop timely countermeasures.
  • Handle responsibility and Report-out on Project status to include Management Level report-out as needed
