About The Position

As OPmobility expands its industrial footprint in North America, a new plant is under construction in Ohio (US). This site will host state‑of‑the-art paint line technologies and will play a key role in serving major automotive customers. As part of this strategic launch, the V.I.E Paint Line Project Engineer will contribute directly to the construction, industrialization, and ramp‑up of the plant’s new paint line. The V.I.E will support the engineering, installation, validation, and optimization of the paint line equipment. He/She will act as a technical interface between suppliers, the project team, and the plant team, ensuring that the paint line is delivered safely, on time, and at the required performance level.

Requirements

  • You are a Mechanical Engineering graduate with foundational knowledge in conveyors, fluid mechanics, robotics, and automation.
  • You have a strong interest in industrial facilities, equipment development, and paint line operations.
  • You demonstrate natural leadership and feel confident coordinating suppliers and technical partners, even in a fast‑paced project environment. You are organized, structured, and capable of managing priorities while maintaining a clear, methodical approach to problem solving.
  • You enjoy working autonomously and taking initiative, while still collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams. You are open‑minded and eager to work in a multicultural environment, adapting easily to different working styles and cultures.
  • With strong communication skills and a hands‑on mentality, you are ready to join a major industrial challenge and contribute to the successful start‑up of a brand‑new OPmobility plant in Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination & Supplier Management
  • Coordinate all contributors involved in the paint line project, particularly equipment suppliers, acting as a technical support leader throughout the project phase.
  • Lead technical exchanges, design reviews, and follow‑up meetings to ensure alignment with OPmobility requirements.
  • Project Follow‑Up & Reporting
  • Track project progress through structured tools (open point list, PDCA, convergence plans, planning, documentation, etc.).
  • Ensure qualitative, clear, and regular reporting to the Project Manager and the plant leadership.
  • Identify risks and support mitigation actions to secure project milestones.
  • Equipment Implementation & Construction Phase
  • Manage supplier activities during engineering and construction phases to ensure HSE compliance, quality of work, cost control, respect of timing, and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Follow installation activities on site, ensuring safe execution and proper integration with plant infrastructure.
  • Equipment Acceptance & Validation
  • Prepare all equipment acceptance milestones (FAT, SAT, functional tests, performance validation) in collaboration with the paint engineering team, plant team, and paint line suppliers.
  • Verify that equipment meets expected performance levels before handover.
  • Ramp‑Up Support & Problem Solving
  • During paint line ramp‑up, support the plant teams in optimizing equipment settings, resolving technical issues, and stabilizing process performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement actions and long‑term equipment reliability.
