About The Position
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Paint Assistant to support paint preparation and masking operations in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on proper part preparation, organization, and movement through the paint process while maintaining safety, quality, and cleanliness standards. The Paint Assistant plays a key role in ensuring parts are ready for painting and handled correctly throughout the workflow.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Candidates without a diploma/GED may be required to complete a pre-employment assessment
- Previous paint or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend American English
Responsibilities
- Read and follow work orders, instructions, and sketches
- Sand, strip, tape, and mask parts prior to paint application
- Arrange parts on tables or racks for efficient workflow
- Move parts through the paint process while maintaining product traceability
- Coordinate workflow with painters and production leadership
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts (certification required or obtainable)
- Maintain clean and organized paint and racking areas per Ultraclean/6S standards
- Handle customer-supplied products with care
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
- Support quality standards to meet or exceed customer expectations
- Work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed
