About The Position

The Emory Pain Center is seeking a dynamic and collaborative clinical psychologist with expertise in pain management to join our interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions to patients with complex acute and chronic pain, while also contributing to integrated clinical care, education, and research efforts. Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship with a focus in pain psychology, health psychology, or behavioral medicine.
  • Licensed (or license-eligible) to practice psychology in the state of Georgia.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary pain care and evidence-based treatments for chronic pain.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to team-based care.

  • Experience working in academic medical centers.
  • Interest in contributing to research, grant applications, and program development.
  • Familiarity with integrated EHR documentation workflows and measurement-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group-based psychological assessments and interventions for patients with chronic pain conditions (e.g., CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches).
  • Participate in integrated care models alongside physicians, APPs, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty to design and implement protocols that embed behavioral health into perioperative pain care pathways, opioid tapering, and neuromodulation.
  • Support the development and delivery of educational programs for pain fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement projects related to behavioral pain medicine.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and adherence to best practices and ethical standards.
