About The Position

At Limestone Coast Local Health Network, we are dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of the South Australian community. We achieve this by providing a comprehensive range of high-quality, accessible hospital services, promoting community health, and fostering healthy behaviours. We are also committed to advancing teaching and research, ensuring that our practices reflect the latest in medical knowledge and care. We are seeking a passionate non-accredited Paediatric Registrar/Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will provide exceptional care for patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings, working with a level of skill and autonomy that aligns with Advanced Training in Paediatrics. Your responsibilities will include conducting initial assessments of children, utilising investigations judiciously, managing ongoing care, and ensuring timely discharges with appropriate follow-up. As a senior member of the Junior Medical Staff, you will be instrumental in developing your clinical proficiency in caring for children with complex health challenges. You will also learn to navigate these situations in the context of each family and the community support structures available. Your journey will include formally scheduled sessions and hands-on exposure to a variety of complex paediatric cases, including child protection issues, developmental challenges through the Child Development Unit, paediatric psychiatric conditions, and rehabilitation. You’ll gain insights into environmental factors affecting child health, such as nutrition and trauma care, while being prepared for the urgent needs of acutely ill children, including neonates, as part of the Medstar Retrieval team. Join us in making a significant impact on the lives of children and families in our community while advancing your medical career in a supportive and dynamic environment!
