About The Position

We're looking for upbeat, motivated people to help lead our riverfront paddlesports operations and create great experiences for our community. You'll work in a relaxed, outdoor setting with a fun team-plus enjoy competitive pay, benefits, and the opportunity for year-round employment in partnership with Weston Ski Track and Community Skating @ Kendall Square. What You'll Do Lead daily operations of a high-volume canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) rental center Oversee waterfront operations including dock management, boat traffic flow, and launch/landing areas Hire, train, and support a team of seasonal outdoor recreation staff and paddlesports instructors Ensure safe paddling practices, proper life jacket (PFD) use, and adherence to water safety protocols Prep and manage boats and gear for lessons, guided tours, summer camps, and group programs Maintain rental fleet including kayaks, canoes, SUP boards, paddles, PFDs, and safety equipment Monitor river conditions, weather, and environmental factors affecting paddling operations Keep the site clean, organized, and welcoming for guests and community members Deliver excellent customer service and create positive outdoor recreation experiences Foster strong teamwork, leadership, and a positive outdoor work culture What We're Looking For A safety-minded, customer-focused leader who enjoys working outdoors Experience leading teams in paddlesports, boating, waterfront, or outdoor recreation settings Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment Confident communicator with staff, guests, and the public Comfortable using basic computer systems for reservations and operations Bonus Points Experience with kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, or other paddlesports Background in outdoor education, guiding, or waterfront programming Knowledge of river safety, risk management, and trip planning Certifications such as ACA (American Canoe Association), lifeguarding, or boating safety Multilingual skills Requirements Valid driver's license with a safe driving record CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in an active, outdoor environment Why You'll Love It $25/hour, based on experience Full-time, year-round opportunities available Year-end bonus and benefits Spend your days outside on the water Build experience in the outdoor recreation and paddlesports industry Be part of a fun, supportive, and mission-driven team

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in an active, outdoor environment

  • Experience leading teams in paddlesports, boating, waterfront, or outdoor recreation settings
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
