About The Position

The Padder is responsible for applying foam and soft padding to wood frames using water-based adhesives, staple guns, and various hand tools. Reporting to the Wood Shop Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor, this role plays a key part in the upholstery preparation process and requires consistent attention to detail in a production environment.

Requirements

• Skilled in using hand and power tools, including staple, nail, and spray guns.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing production schedules.
• Collaborative mindset for cross-departmental teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Comfortable working in varying temperature environments.
• Able to meet strict production deadlines.
• Capable of lifting at least 30 lbs.
• Must follow all safety protocols and use required PPE.
• At least six months of production experience.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Receive frames from the framing department.
• Apply foam and padding to ensure complete coverage of each frame.
• Operate hand tools, staple guns, nail guns, and spray guns as required.
• Identify and report any rejected or defective parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
