About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable PACS/RIS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Administrator to join our dynamic team at our Hackettstown location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and maintaining the PACS system. This position involves the efficient organization, storage, retrieval, and distribution of medical images and related data to support patient care, medical research, and administrative functions within the healthcare facility. Special projects for the improvement of the organization will be assigned as needed.

  • ABILITY TO COMMUTE/RELOCATE: Hackettstown, NJ 07840: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the PACS, including user access, data integrity, and system performance.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors or IT support for problem resolution.
  • Regularly update and patch the PACS software to ensure system security and functionality.
  • Ensure the proper acquisition, storage, and retrieval of medical images and patient data into the PACS system.
  • Implement and maintain data backup, disaster recovery, and archival procedures to safeguard patient data.
  • Organize and maintain image libraries, ensuring images are properly indexed and categorized for easy retrieval.
  • Provide training and support to healthcare staff on PACS system usage, image retrieval, and data entry.
  • Assist users in resolving technical issues related to image acquisition, viewing, and transfer.
  • Develop user manuals and documentation to facilitate efficient system usage.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant data protection and security standards.
  • Implement access controls and monitor user activities to protect patient privacy and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Conduct periodic security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to integrate the PACS system with other healthcare information systems, such as EHR (Electronic Health Record) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
  • Analyze system performance metrics and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and user experience.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends related to PACS and medical imaging informatics.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
  • Coordinate completion and research efforts for special projects as assigned.
