What you will do: Oversee the daily operations of the packaging department, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards. Coordinates with supervisors to manage supplies and ensure finished goods are correctly labeled, packed, and palletized for shipping. Responsible for optimizing packing efficiency by driving quality efforts with associates. Guide staff, manage workflow, utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners, and resolve issues to meet shipping deadlines. Direct daily work assignments, mentors staff, and provides training on packing techniques, equipment operation, and safety products. Use work orders and verbal instructions to assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged. Monitors the packaging processing lanes to ensure speed and efficiency, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery as needed. Inspects products for defects, accuracy and ensure compliance with company policies. Package merchandise for shipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce damage during the shipping process. Properly label, and mark material for easy identification and auditing. Use Eclipse to confirm picking and staging of materials, ensuring proper piece count for drivers and customers. Document shipments and changes in inventory using Eclipse. Maintain a safe, clean, work area, enforcing all safety protocols and equipment handling procedures. Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examine outgoing shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with direct manager. Perform regular counting of inventory and inspecting items for damage. Other duties, as assigned.
