About The Position

Associate is responsible for visually inspecting glass cut lengths and packing them according to standard procedures. They will also monitor, operate, and respond to alarms and remedy their causes for Automated Glass Packing machines and ultrasonic washers as needed. The Packing Associate will accurately track materials supplied to upstream operations by maintaining traceability. The Packing Associate will also provide support for production to include accurate inventory reporting utilizing MES and by creating printed labels for legibility, traceability, and accuracy. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English or Spanish. Willing and able to uphold BD Values. Requirements

  • H.S, Diploma/GED
  • 2 years manufacturing experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED
  • Ability to read and write and converse in English or Spanish
  • Willing and able to uphold BD Values

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • MES and SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect glass cut lengths for quality defects and remove defective material as necessary.
  • Monitor quality and document results accurately according to procedures.
  • Maintain traceability through accurate placement of basket identification on corresponding carts.
  • Responsible for MES transactional process for related production area including verification of materials and their traceability.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to alarms for an ultrasonic washer as needed.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to Auto Glass Packer alarms to ensure uninterrupted operation and output.
  • Clean up any dropped glass around machine and assist the Cutting Operator in daily clean-up of the area.
  • Participate in periodic inventory verifications.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
