As a Crate Builder/Glass Packer, you will be responsible for assembling wooden crates and loading/packing glass to prepare for shipment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned): Build wooden shipping crates per specifications using a nail gun to assemble boxes; May utilize saws to fabricate plywood sides. Measures finished product or parts and fabricates wooden crate/container in the appropriate manner for shipment. Pack, skid, band, brace, cover, and weigh parts and/or the fabricated container as required. Handling and moving glass from tables, furnace, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wooden crates for 8-10 hours daily. Transporting glass or other materials from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process. Strapping glass to carts and or trucks so they are safe for moving. Following work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understand and communicate paperwork and labels/picking list. Utilize a tape measure to ensure product is within the product specifications. Daily inspections - Look for any unsafe objects, check equipment, etc. Inspects product for any abnormalities, cracks, chips, etc. and notifies supervisor immediately of any issues. Mains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
