Packhouse Production Assistant
About The Position
The Packhouse Production Assistant is responsible for full-time packing and quality control sorting of leafy vegetables and herbs. This role involves inspecting, weighing, arranging leaves, and placing products into clamshell containers. The assistant must report any quality or pest issues to the supervisor and ensure only quality greens are packed, maintaining a consistent pack pace. Key duties also include preparing products for boxing, assisting with loading onto U-boats/pallets for truck loading, and strictly adhering to company FSQA processes, policies, dress code, and GAP/GMP guidelines. Additionally, the position requires assisting with cleaning and sanitation of the Greenhouse/Packhouse, gutter washing, and loading/unloading of supplies and materials, while always practicing proper hand washing and wearing required PPE.

Responsibilities
- Full-time packing and quality control sorting of leafy vegetables and herbs
- Inspect and weigh greens, arrange leaves, and place product in clamshell containers
- Report quality or pest issues (tip burn, dropped leaves, insects) to supervisor and then discard leaves as necessary and as instructed
- Ensure only quality greens are packed
- Maintain a consistent pack pace per minute of 2 PPM on clamshells and 6 PPM on trays
- Prepare product for boxing and assist with loading products onto U-boats/pallets in preparation for truck loading
- Follow company FSQA processes and policies
- Adhere to company dress code and GAP/GMP policies (e.g. no earphones/air pods, no hoods, rubber-soled shoes, no food, clean clothing, no phones, etc.)
- Assist with cleaning and sanitation of Greenhouse/Packhouse and gutter washing
- Follow proper cleaning and sanitation methods
- Assists with the loading and unloading of Greenhouse and Packhouse supplies and materials
- Proper hand washing and wear required PPE at all times
- Additional duties as assigned
