Job Summary: The Packer is responsible for inspecting and laying out finished doors, components, and sub-assemblies to efficiently pack complete aluminum entrance packages. This role ensures that all items are securely packaged for safe shipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in packing or quality inspection in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and follow checklists and packing instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Adaptability to new processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test door panels for fit and function according to a checklist, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Use tools and equipment such as tape dispensers, layout trucks, hand tools, and tape measures to facilitate packing operations.
  • Remove and package doors and assemblies, including jambs, thresholds, inserts, hardware, and screw packs, into appropriate containers following prescribed methods.
  • Apply protective materials to ensure items are safely shipped and tape or wrap containers as necessary, applying appropriate identification labels.
  • Pack extrusions for shipment to finishing vendors.
  • Handle and store incoming shipments of extrusions efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and efficiency standards.
