Requirements

Job-related experience: Prefer packing experience in food industry.

Responsibilities

Assembles carton boxes by folding & bending &/or taping them into place.
Marks carton boxes according to product specifications.
Stands by conveyor belt and picks up product and places it in appropriate container.
Spot checks weight of product or that correct number of product is being placed in container.
Picks up trays filled with correct amount of product and puts trays through the wrapping machine and/or taping machine.
Inspects wrapped trays to make sure they are completely sealed.
Picks up wrapped trays and places them in carton boxes (cases).
Stacks boxes (cases) on a pallet.
Whenever possible, Packers are rotated to the different positions to cross-train and for ergonomic reasons to prevent cumulative trauma injury.
Report any food safety or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Follows J&J Snack Food’s Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
