About The Position
The Packer is responsible for performing a final inspection of castings prior to attaching proper labeling and packaging for delivery to the Distribution Center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum two years previous Packing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office programs preferred.
- Basic Hand Tool Knowledge
- Tape Machine Knowledge
- Tape Dispenser Knowledge
- Label Dispenser Knowledge
- Glue Gun Knowledge
- Bailing Tool Knowledge
- Lantech Wrapping Machine Knowledge
- Scanning Equipment Knowledge
- Forklift License Preferred
Responsibilities
- Remove casting from the seasoning line.
- Inspect/Sort casting for first quality, second quality and scrap.
- Attached proper hang tag, drop in, and/or label to first and second quality castings based on labeling requirements.
- Remove scrap castings and place in scrap bin.
- Ensure castings are placed in the correct package.
- Utilize tape machine and/or tape dispenser to close package.
- Stack packages on pallets in quantities and configurations according to the Item Sheet guidelines.
- Transport pallets to be bundled by the Lantech wrapping machine.
- Utilize scanning equipment to correctly label the wrapped bundle.
- Transport wrapped pallet to the staging area for transport to the warehouse by stock truck.
- Maintain a clean work environment in accordance to the 5L guidelines.
- Assist with or perform all other job related duties as assigned.
