About The Position

Here at Mars, we have an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking employment to come and join our Royal Canin factory team as a Packaging Operator. The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained. The Packaging Operator will also play a pivotal role in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects within the packaging hall. Shift: This role will be a night position on D-Shift. All positions are 12-hour schedules. 4-days on and 4-days off set schedule. Nights: 6:00 pm to 6:30 am Days: 6:00 am to 6:30 pm

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environment and operating high speed packing machines.
  • Ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical background desirable, but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup and Maintenance: Setting up automated packing machines, loading packing materials, making machine adjustments, and ensuring proper sanitation.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Clearing machine jams, reworking defective packaging, troubleshooting machine faults, and maintaining glue and ink supplies.
  • Quality Assurance: Performing and documenting quality checks throughout the packaging process. Ensures compliance with all Quality, Food Safety, and Legislative standards.
  • Safety Practices: Following safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, to safely conduct equipment operations and routine maintenance.
  • Equipment Management: Completing Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication (CIL) tasks according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness.
  • This role demands attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to manage equipment autonomously.
  • The position holder is trained to perform other jobs consistent with the skill level and physical demands of this position.
