This position will manage the day to day operations of the Golden Valley warehouse which includes the supervision of the blending, packaging and maintenance employees. The Packaging Operations Manager will ensure that customer expectations are met through the appropriate allocation of people, equipment and assets in the most efficient/productive manner, while ensure the facility complies with workplace safety regulations. This position primarily works 1st shift in the Golden Valley warehouse. However, this person needs to have flexibility in their hours to work either shift, weekends, and as business dictates.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED. Bachelor degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years manufacturing operations experience related to production line operation which included management functions (hired, fire, discipline, coach, train, and develop talent)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Understanding of KPIs and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ISO and Quality Management System (QMS) is desired
  • Strong understanding of Quality, Safety Awareness and Lean Principles
  • Strong leadership, communication & organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Demonstrated background complying with OSHA safety rules, safe practices, and Government regulations to provide a safe environment for employees
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Inventory Management System (JDE)
  • Understand laptops and projectors for training purpose
  • Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and push/pull 76-100 pounds occasionally.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk.
  • Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations .

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance for budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor
  • Review / analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
  • Develop and implement operating procedures designed to eliminate production waste and improve quality
  • Contribute to the overall management of the Department and to the development of people, strategies, policies and practices
  • Provide guidance and support as a leader, mentor and coach.
  • Monitor, review and evaluate, individual / team performance and take action when required.
  • Select, hire, and develop team to ensure the efficient operation of the production and warehouse functions
  • Be an advocate and leader for production/warehouse “continuous improvements” related to production goals, lean activities, safety, cost objectives, document controls, facility/asset maintenance, product quality, and/or plant improvements
  • Develop and coordinate the flow of materials through the production area, from raw materials to finished products with on time shipment of product to customers and/or other facilities
  • Enhance and develop training procedures to move the company to be best in class
  • Complete daily stand-up meeting "daily huddle" with production teams for a quick status update
  • Lead Safety Committee.
  • Ensure employees are complying with OSHA safety rules, safe practices, and Government regulations to provide a safe environment for employees
  • Oversee plant cleanliness such that customer tours can be a positive marketing experience
  • Become proficient in the use of Ascentek’s manufacturing & inventory control system (JDE)
  • Manage and analyze production specifications, plant capacity data, quality measurements and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements
  • Present measurements to management on a predetermined basis
