About The Position

Responsible for supervising packaging production including labeling, packaging, and kitting of products on assigned line and verification of pre- and post-op activities and CCP’s. Will assist in managing staff during sanitation activities. High paced job with attention to achieving standard productivity metrics.

  • Computer experience is preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Responsibilities

  • At shift exchange, communicate with incoming Line Lead all details including finished and unfinished work, any problems that happened, any missing tools, any safety issues, or any other relevant information
  • Verification of Pre-operation (Pre-ops) activities so production can begin.
  • Verification of Post-Operation (Post-Op) activities during product changeover and/or shift change.
  • Collection of samples to be sent for third party analysis per specific internal and/or customer requirements.
  • Verification of in-process Critical Control Points (CCP’s), metal detection.
  • Ability to report any failures on H-122 Deviation Form and stop the line until it is brought back into specification.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with management about any problems with the line that might affect food safety.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees
  • Follow Work schedule/work orders
  • Check lot numbers
  • Check materials/bags, boxes, and Verify labels
  • Calibrate the scale
  • Operate the combi-scale
  • Track product waste and downtime
  • Manage a team of four or five employees
  • Make sure the line is running and on a continuous flow
  • Report any equipment breakdown, accident, or injury
  • Always communicate with the Area Lead
  • Responsible for counseling, coaching, and teaching team members
  • Ensure the entire team knows and understands their duties and job
  • Make SQF (Safe Quality Food) Standard and Lean thinking daily habits
  • Document all information needed for future reference
  • Attends necessary leadership meetings
  • Maintains excellent communication and relationships with other employees to foster team effort
  • Learn the duties of the Packaging area lead and be a backup as needed
  • Support the X3 Specialist with the materials ready to be returned to the PSTAGE area, properly placed in clean pallets and/or correctly identified boxes
  • Additional duties may be assigned and/or required
