Leads Packaging Support team and operations when a supervisor is not present. Opens and/or closes the shifts and assists with staff training. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Requirements

At least 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in a food production or manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of lead or supervisory experience. Must have experience and familiarity with food manufacturing, sanitation and safety regulations. Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Must obtain all state required: permits, licenses, certifications
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area for yourself and other employees
Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
Maintain packaging flow by ensuring adequate product levels at each station
Ensure quotas are met by observing Packaging Support team members and training/coaching
Maintain high-quality standards during shifts including constant QA/QC of all products being prepped and produced
Ability to work well with others in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency
Communicate discrepancies in quantities or quality of product
Perform opening and closing duties
Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products. Store food products in compliance with safety practices
Maintain and comply with sanitation and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized packaging area and work environment
Perform visual quality inspections on products, minimize waste where possible
Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company
Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Packaging Support employees on proper procedures, techniques and compliance protocol
Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers and/or Directors
Makes recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training of the Packaging Support team
Assist the Production Manager or Packaging Supervisor as needed
Ensure a safe working environment. Review and communicate daily on all safety related topics of discussion
Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned

Benefits

As a non-exempt employee, you'll receive a competitive hourly wage of $22-$26.75/hr paid biweekly, overtime, 11 paid holidays, 80 hours of PTO and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
